da esoccer bet: Stoke City central defender Ryan Shawcross is hoping to make a return for the first team in their difficult Premier League clash at Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
da pinup bet: The youngster has not featured since his crunching challenge left Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey with a double leg break at the end of February.
He was dismissed for his part in Ramsey’s serious injury and collected a three-match ban, but an ankle injury prolonged his absence from the starting line-up.
But he has returned to full-fitness and he wants to put the unfortunate sequence of events behind him.
Speaking to reporters, he said:“I want to get back and write some good headlines and start playing well.
“Sometimes these things are sent to test you. Obviously I have had a difficult couple of months with the injury, but hopefully I can get fit and get playing.”
Meanwhile, Shawcross has also played down Sanli Tuncay’s act of petulance after he was substituted during last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at home to Bolton.
He believes the Turkey international will not be given the cold shoulder treatment from his team-mates after storming down the tunnel.
“Tuncay is a fantastic player and he has done well since he has been here,” added Shawcross.
“Obviously I think he knows he was wrong. When you come off whether you have played well or played bad you need to support the team and I think he knows that.
“We are fully behind him and hopefully he will put in a good performance on Sunday.”
