da wazamba: According to The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are among a host of clubs monitoring Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara ahead of a potential swoop.
What’s the word?
The 23-year-old has revived his career in professional football since leaving Arsenal following just one game for the north Londoners. The Finland international played regularly for Dundee – racking up 64 appearances in his spell for the club – before moving to fellow Scottish side Rangers in the January transfer window earlier this year.
Now, The Daily Mail claim that series of impressive performances for Steven Gerrard’s side has put Kamara’s name back in the conversation for a return to English football, with Palace and Brighton said to be interested.

The report further adds the duo could face added competition from Premier League rivals Burnley and Aston Villa for the midfielder’s signature.
Excellent deal
Having signed for Rangers for just a measly £50k due to his contract running down, Kamara has proven to be an incredibly shrewd investment for Gerrard’s men. Already this season, he has made 15 appearances for the side, and has had an almost even split of playing in central midfield and as an anchor man in front of the back four.
As per Sofascore, the 23-year-old has averaged 54.3 touches, one interception and 3.7 total duels won per game in the Europa League this year. In the clash against FC Porto earlier in mid-week, the Finn more than held his own in the middle of the park, registering an incredible 98% pass accuracy and winning three duels. It was the kind of all-action display Palace could do with in their engine room.

His Rangers teammate Scott Arfield paid him a glowing compliment for settling into life at Ibrox earlier this year. He said: “Glen for 50 grand is the biggest steal of the century. He’s come in and he’s took to life. In terms of coming from Dundee with no expectation on him, but in terms of how he plays the expectation arises because he’s such a good footballer, and he’s kept that going.”
Whilst Roy Hodgson’s side would be unlikely to get him for anywhere near that £50k price, he would still surely represent a great piece of business in this modern world of inflated transfer prices.
